FEMA Offers Home Repair Advice in Beaufort,
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Wednesday, Dec. 14) — As South Carolinians repair homes damaged by Hurricane Matthew, teams of mitigation specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be available at Lowe’s home improvement stores to provide tips and advice on making homes stronger and safer, and answer questions about protecting homes from future disaster damage.
At the store, homeowners can attend free workshops on how to repair or install flooring, how to replace damaged drywall, caulk windows, and the benefits of hurricane straps. Most of the information is geared for do-it-yourselfers and general contractors.
FEMA mitigation advisors will be at these locations, Dec. 15 through Dec. 20, 2016:
